Product RecallThe Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) published a public warning on September 4, 2026 after detecting Listeria monocytogenes in the production environment of a meat company, a meat wholesaler based in Lausanne. The FSVO advised against consuming any product packed or processed by the company, including fresh meats (even vacuum-packed), meat preparations such as tartare, burgers, skewers and marinated meats, cured sausages, poultry products and any other food that had been handled, processed, cut or stored on the affected premises. All use-by dates on products sold between August 28 and September 2, 2026 were potentially compromised. A meat company immediately withdrew the products from sale and ordered their recall.
The fact that the warning covers such a broad list of product categories — from unprocessed fresh meat to cured sausages and marinated preparations — confirms that the finding originated in the plant's shared infrastructure rather than in a specific manufacturing process: when Listeria monocytogenes is detected in the environment and not in a single product, any food that has passed through the same cutting lines, the same work tables or the same chill rooms becomes suspect, regardless of its recipe or any subsequent heat treatment.
For TAAG, this case illustrates why environmental monitoring at a meat wholesaler cannot be limited to the lines dedicated to higher-risk products — deli meats, cured sausages — but must cover the entire shared infrastructure: cutting surfaces, mincing equipment and preparation tables are contact points common to the whole product range leaving a single plant, and one uncontrolled colonization point can end up compromising, as in this case, practically the company's entire catalog.

Ampliora 2.3 broadly detects Listeria spp. and L. monocytogenes in foods, beverages and on live and inert surfaces, including meat products; the association is indirect because fresh meats and marinated preparations are not listed as a specifically validated matrix, unlike the deli meats and cured meats covered by other kits in the catalog.
