Intended Use

Qualitative detection of Salmonella spp in samples of Chocolate with filling - hazelnut type, Chocolate with filling - milk type, Chocolate bar with peanuts, Hazelnut & cocoa cream, Whole muscle meat, Ground beef (90% lean), Animal feed pellets, Pasteurized liquid eggs and Stainless steel surfaces. AOAC-validated matrices 62% Cocoa chocolate, Cocoa liquor, Non-fat dry milk, Peanuts and enriched stainless-steel surface samples.

Intended for use in food safety and microbiology laboratories of low or high complexity.

Principle

Detection is carried out through real-time RT-PCR employing fluorescence-labeled probes. During the reaction, RNA from target microorganisms is reverse-transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA), which acts as the template for amplification. Sequence-specific fluorescent probes anneal to corresponding cDNA regions, generating a quantifiable signal as amplification proceeds. The fluorescence intensity correlates with the accumulation of amplified product, ensuring high sensitivity and precision in RNA target detection. TxA software automatically analyzes amplification curves to classify samples as positive or negative.
